In this video tutorial I show you how to make a cute and simple drawstring bag using some fabric and ribbon. These little bags have thousands of uses! I use it as a bread bag when I am giving someone a fresh loaf of homemade bread. It can be used to keep your underwear in when you travel….. use it to store kids toys for car rides, make a smaller version of the bag for potpourri or sachets…etc. Any beginner can make this drawstring bag and once you make a few you will see that you are going to come up with dozens of uses for them in your own house. @dannyandkim04 haha.. glad I could help! ;o)
Thank you for this great and easy tutorial! I volunteered to sew bags for my son’s school, not knowing how to get started. This was absolutely perfect!!
@fionanbrad Yes. It doesn’t really bother me on such a small project like this. But you can always do a small hem on the edges before you folding over the casing. Hope that helps.
@krumbsfromtehkake Thank you! Be sure to subscribe to my channel if you like what you see.. I post new tutorials every Monday.. and have a ton of fun beginner sewing and quilting projects.

Hi, Vanessa,
Love the video! I do have one question – How could you add a lining in order to make it reversable? Thank you!
This is so awesome just wondering, how would you make a bag with a lining if you don’t want seam allowances to show on the inside? Thanks!
@PrettyPrincessNeena Awesome use for these handy little baggies.

I just bought 5 different Crhistmas cottons to make 25 Advent Bags for my grand daughter. I will number them 1 thru 25 with transfer paper and fill them with a small gift which she can open each day through the advent season. This pattern will make a terrific bag for this purpose.
